Tick Invaders have descended on cities across Canada, posing a hidden but significant threat to the health of dogs and their owners. Yet, many remain unaware of the growing risk. And most aren’t protecting their dogs with a tick-prevention product. With the invasion already well underway, K9 Advantix II needed to grab the attention of dog owners and fast.
First contact will bite.
Bark together, fight together.
Then, when the moment was right and the dogs were on site, our UFO released the “ticks” into a dog park space, inviting dogs who had signed up to be part of the K9 Resistance to bite back. Really, they just chased after the balls and barked a lot.
Speaking to as many dog owners as possible, we teased a TICK INVASION at the ultimate dog festival — Woofstock. Yes, that’s a real thing. Sci-fi movie posters popped up at pet stores and on digital billboards along the Gardiner Expressway, promoting the incoming invaders.
The ticks are out there.
At the festival, we hoisted a massive UFO-shaped balloon into the air, filled with thousands of black branded tennis balls; each one representing a 2023 tick encounter in the GTA.
It’s time to bite back!
Leveraging real-time tick encounter data and our audience’s geolocation, we alerted dog owners to nearby ‘tick invasion’ threats via DOOH and display.
JOIN THE TICK RESISTANCE.
Once targeted, we directed people to our website, where they could view a heat map of tick encounters across Canada, including their area. We also provided more information on ticks and how to stay safe by joining the K9 Resistance and using K9 Advantix II.
