With 28,000 kilometres of coastline, there’s plenty to see and do in Newfoundland and Labrador. However, even for the seasoned traveller, the vastness of the province can be a bit overwhelming. Where to go? What to see? When to visit? These are some of the first questions that are raised. And oftentimes, travellers end up settling for major hubs like St. John’s or Corner Brook. This is a problem because many of the province’s tourist operators are located in rural, offbeat places. The challenge: Encourage travellers to plan a longer trip with a broader itinerary of historical sites, towns, and activities. In other words, inspire them to go on a road trip.
One van. A million stories 📚
The popularity of travel shows and streaming services is at an all-time high. More and more people find travel inspiration from the shows they watch. Knowing this and knowing our audience, we created an original four-part mini-series entitled ‘The Tale Blazers’, paring some of the province’s most scenic places with some of the province’s most offbeat stories. Leading the charge, Marlee and Mirella, a pair of quirky life-long friends on the trip of their lives. They became spokeswomen for Newfoundland and Labrador. Posting pictures of their travels on Instagram, appearing on a branded Air Canada channel, and even in a travel article featured in the Globe and Mail.
